I have always had a keen interest sports and keeping fit. However, in my early 20’s I realised that my energy levels were not as high as my friends.  Feeling tired throughout the day and the evening was normal for me. It was affecting my life and my ability to interact with people. I felt I was not living life to my potential. 

I heard that Reflexology and Massage were great therapies for creating and balancing energies so I started to learn more about it. Through these courses I learned so much about the body and how it works on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. Learning about the body became a passion!  But it was really through my work with the nutritional energy company Usana Health Sciences and my Weight Management Diploma that really educated me on how important diet is to your energy levels, overall emotional and physical health.  Diet, exercise and mindset changes have changed my life.

With my new-found energy, I have completed a marathon and have taken up hang gliding, which has become a huge passion of mine.

My experience gives me an insight into all the issues surrounding weight loss so I can better help others to also achieve a life full of energy and passion!

My health journey began when I was about 18.  On my first holiday abroad (and being from Ireland the first time I’d spent significant time in a bikini) I faced the fact that I was the only one of my friends that was overweight and spent a lot of my holiday hiding my stomach and feeling completely unattractive.  That was enough for me to decide that I’d get down to a ‘normal’ weight no matter what it took.  And I did. 

However, I became obsessed by what I ate and controlling my figure.  The consequence was that anytime I didn’t count points or watch what I ate, I’d put on weight.  Mirrored by the fact when I went to San Francisco for 3 months I came home 12.5 kilos (27.5 pounds) heavier!! I was also frequently sick with chest infections and flu’s.


Studying nutrition as part of a Naturopathy degree I learned to value my health rather than obsess about eating to be skinny.  Maintaining a normal weight became easy for me and I no longer got sick. During that time I started a health business where I was able to help many people to improve their overall health and weight and my passion for helping grew.  I found that a lot of the breakthroughs with people were the emotional and mental aspects of health not just the physical. 

I now also practice as a life and wellness coach and get great joy from seeing my clients make positive changes in their health and overall lives.
